About Peaches and Pines Paranormal Podcast

The Backstory

Why Peaches and Pines?  I’m originally from South Georgia. Peach orchards are what Georgia is famous for, but  South Georgia is home to the Longleaf Pine forests too.  Dotted with lowland swamps, creeks and rivers, the Longleaf Pine forests are vast tracts of land with as much or more high strangeness than the pine barrens of New Jersey or the temperate rain forests of the Pacific Northwest.  The difference is, we Southerners tend to be tight knit and tight lipped, so the tales of the paranormal from the south don’t normally leave the South, but you will hear some of those guarded stories, rural legends and family favorite fireside fright stories here.

What is more, you have the chance to tell your story too.  And let me tell you, my own family has had their share of paranormal experiences, so have I.  We also have a heaping helping of family tales of horror and the macabre, though some are more entertaining than credible.  So, you are not alone.

This is the place and this is the time.  Share your story.  You will be surprised just how good a company you're in, and how big a family you have.  All of us that have experienced or love the paranormal are a sort of family, after all.

Episode 1:Confederate Ghost and Alabama Skookum

The first tale is from a friend of mine.  He and his family had a ghostly experience when his brother-in-law was insulting toward the spirits at a battlefield.  Enraged, a spirit followed him home and horror ensued.

The second story comes from my family.  Growing up in the 1950's, one of my family had a horrifying night at his aunt and uncle's mountain home when their farm was attacked by something in the night.
